Located near Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, USA and the Wright Brothers "First Flight", GullRock Flight Center is a proposed private and semi-public partnership (semi PPP) flight research facility between Archer, the State of North Carolina and the North Carolina University System led by NC State.
This facility will provide global medium to large airframe UAV operations, UAV research and provide vertical and horizontal flight facilities for orbital & sub-orbital commercial space flight. The facility is modeled after the west coast's Vanderberg flight facilities.
Located in a remote area near Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, and adjacent to two military aerial bombing ranges, the fully secure full service flight facility will include some of the following assets:
Horizontal Launch

20,000 feet of commercial 200' wide concrete runway (HOTOL);

Research hangars large enough for several C-17 size aircraft;

Vertical Launch: Option One

Eight (8) state-of-the-art vertical launch facilities (VTOL);

Shuttle vehicle (type) launch and capture capable (2 of the 8 VTOLs);

Three (3) spur railhead with about 3000' of railcar off-loading and storage;

Flight vehicle assembly master facility (1) with associated buildings;

Vehicle fuel storage facilities including Hydrogen refinery & bunkering;

Ground tracking; onsite and at our Charlottesville, Va mountain facility (AMC - East).
Vertical Launch: Option Two

Thirteen (13) state-of-the-art vertical launch & recovery facilities (VTOL);

Shuttle vehicle (type) launch and capture capable (5 of the 13 VTOLs);

Three (3) spur railhead with about 3000' of railcar off-loading and storage;

Flight vehicle assembly master complex consisting of 4 independent areas;
